UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy Assistant Professor Shawn Hingtgen to give a talk about “Developing Stem Cell Drug Carriers for Cancer Therapy”

The upcoming Small Animal Imaging Seminar will be held on May 19th, 2015, Tuesday at 1pm.

Our speaker this time is Dr. Shawn Hingtgen, from the UNC School of Pharmacy. Dr. Hingtgen’ s lab focuses on developing stem cell-based therapeutic methodology for cancer treatments. Their group has utilized extensively non-invasive imaging methods in stem cell research, particularly optical imaging including both bioluminescence and fluorescence imaging methods. Dr. Hingtgen’s talk will focus on developing stem cell drug carriers, and how optical imaging has been incorporated in the various stages of the study as an important research tool.
