Research Corporation for Science Advancement and the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation announced awards of $1,320,000 to nine interdisciplinary teams in the final year of Scialog: Chemical Machinery of the Cell, an initiative launched in 2018 to spark collaborative research that could advance fundamental understanding of chemical machinery and reactions in the intact cell. Stephanie Gupton, Cell Biology and Physiology, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill along with collaborators Alexis Komor, Chemistry and Biochemistry, University of California, San Diego and Yan Yu, Chemistry, Indiana University received an award for their project “Elucidating the Polygenic Origins of Schizophrenia: Linking Protein Trafficking to Synapse Function”.  Click here for article.
