The FACEP designation recognizes exceptional contributions to Emergency Medicine and demonstrated dedication to delivering outstanding patient care.

The UNC School of Medicine’s Department of Emergency Medicine has received $4.1 million in new grant funding to advance emergency care for older adults and individuals living with dementia.

These prestigious awards are presented to alumni whose outstanding accomplishments bring heightened esteem and recognition to the UNC School of Medicine.

He will assume the new, one-year role as Chair in June of 2026.

This prestigious award was presented at the AAMS annual Air Medical Transport (AMTC) Conference.

The article emphasizes that effective resuscitation for older adults is not simply about applying algorithms but about tailoring care to physiology, context, and the person in front of us.

This award, presented by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), recognizes program directors who have fostered innovation and improvement in their residency programs and have served as exemplary role models for residents.

Dr. Shenvi is widely recognized for her contributions in advancing medical education and Geriatric Emergency Medicine, and serving in key leadership roles in the field of Emergency Medicine, both at UNC and with numerous national and international professional associations.

Dr. Park is a Pediatric Emergency Medicine faculty member and works closely with the UNC Department of Emergency Medicine.

Both of these "Triple Tar Heels" are known for their passion and dedication to furthering high quality, comprehensive Emergency Medicine education, combined with an unwavering focus on providing outstanding patient care.

Dr. Mehrotra has held numerous leadership roles with ACEP, a few of which include being past president of its N.C. Chapter, and serving as a Board member for 2023-2024.

The publication provides insights into UNC's breadth and depth of expertise, and highlights specific procedures and unique considerations involved with transport of patients infected with high-consequence pathogens.
