At the event, six Emergency Medicine faculty and residents were recognized for their outstanding contributions to education.

The ceremony was led by UNC AOE President Dr. Christina Shenvi, who gave an address discussing the role of ‘educators as changemakers,’ and recognizing the achievements of all award recipients across multiple UNC departments.

The keynote speaker at this year’s event was Dr. Adam Rodman, an internal medicine physician and instructor in medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC). He co-directs the Innovations in Media and Education Delivery (iMED) Initiative at BIDMC, is dedicated to studying and promoting digital education, and is a national leader in the field. Dr. Rodman also hosts a medical podcast called “Bedside Rounds” in partnership with the American College of Physicians.
