Dr. Jim Crowley Awarded Focus Grant from American Foundation for Suicide Prevention August 2, 2024
Jim Crowley, PhD (Professor, Genetics) has received a collaborative grant with the Karolinska Institutet, funded by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) for the project titled “Saving lives: Constructing a nationwide cohort with multimodal data to improve precision in prediction and prevention of suicide”.
UNC virologist and Professor of Genetics raises awareness of potential bird flu infections after rise in cases in Colorado July 30, 2024
Since 2022, 14 cases of bird flu in humans have been reported in the United States. Since April 1, four people have contracted the virus after exposure to dairy cows, while 10 cases since April 28, 2022, came after exposure to poultry. Colorado has 10 cases in total.
