About
My clinical and research interests are in disorders of thrombosis and hemostasis, and Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT). I started the UNC HHT Center of Excellence in 2011, one of the largest HHT Centers in the world. I am actively involved in the design and conduct of a number of multicenter clinical trials, investigator-initiated studies, and translational research endeavors in HHT. I have a particular interest in iron deficiency anemia, women’s health, and the mechanism (s) underlying thrombosis in HHT. I also have an interest in thrombotic microangiopathies (TMA), represent UNC in the USTMA Consortium, and am involved in clinical research projects in TMAs. In addition to my personal research interests, I run the clinical research program for the UNC benign hematology section and the UNC Blood Research Center.
