A Post-Doctoral Position is available in the Department of Medicine and the program in Hemostasis and Thrombosis at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for highly motivated and energetic candidates to study the crosstalk between coagulation proteases and inflammation in hematologic, cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases. Our research involves both in vitro experiments and in vivo mouse models of ischemia reperfusion/injury-induced heart remodeling, sepsis, sickle cell disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Candidates must be familiar with standard molecular techniques. Previous experience in coagulation, establishing primary cell cultures and working with mice is preferred but not essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Applicants should possess a PhD or MD/PhD degree. Preference will be given to those individuals who provide a summary of how their interests might fit into the current focus areas of the lab. Competitive salary and benefits are offered.
