Telehealth Services For Incarcerated People
Dr. Becky White has championed HIV care in the prison system and has expanded telehealth services for incarcerated groups during COVID-19. Many incarcerated individuals face intersectional barriers to health services, including essential HIV care.
In response, Dr. Becky White led a UNC team to develop telehealth services for incarcerated people with infectious diseases. The program is supported by the State of North Carolina Corrections and serves prisoners at 74 clinics in prisons.
