National rankings of UNC SOM basic science and clinical departments based on NIH funding.

The SOM continues to maintain national prominence in NIH funding. The Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research recently released FY23 rankings for NIH funding for medical schools. UNC SOM is ranked 19th, with a total of $343,679,736 in funding (excluding contracts). Below are SOM departments ranked in the top 10 (basic) and top 30 (clinical) for NIH funding according to Blue Ridge.
