UNC CRP is a key initiative of the UNC Health Forward Together 2030, the School of Medicine: Accelerate Forward Together strategic plan, and UNC-Chapel Hill’s strategic Research Roadmap.

UNC CRP will focus on maximizing access to industry and other non-federally sponsored clinical studies in all fields of medicine for UNC patients across the healthcare system, including those from rural hospitals. It will leverage existing relationships and resources to advance our shared clinical and research missions.

Last year, Lisa Carey, MD, FASCO, was named executive director of UNC CRP. In this role, Carey serves as the executive and clinical research leader for the enterprise and as a bridge between UNC Health and UNC-Chapel Hill.

On March 30, UNC CRP will initiate administrative services for in-scope trials being conducted by select School of Medicine departments and units. Services will be expanded to all in-scope studies from the School of Medicine on July 1.

As part of the rollout, UNC CRP is implementing a comprehensive internal engagement strategy that includes town halls, regular newsletter updates, and presentations at departmental meetings to ensure faculty and staff remain informed, involved, and aligned as the program moves forward.
