Dr. Jordan, the Joseph P. Archie, Jr Eminent Professor of Medicine Emeritus, received the award for outstanding contributions to ACR and the field of Rheumatology.

She has been an active member of the ACR since 1984 and received the ACR’s Distinguished Clinical Investigator Award (2020); the ACR’s Award for Excellence in Investigative Mentoring (2009); and numerous ACR Research and Education Foundation Research Preceptorships.

Dr. Jordan has also served on the ACR Board of Directors and the Division Directors Task Force, Annual Meeting Planning Committees, the Committee on Training and Workforce, the Committee on Ethics and Conflict of Interest, and the Communications and Marketing Committee.  She served as Associate Editor of Arthritis Care and Research and Advisory Editor of Arthritis and Rheumatology.

Prior to her retirement from UNC in 2019, Dr. Jordan was Vice Dean for Faculty Affairs and Leadership Development for the UNC School of Medicine. She also served many other roles, including Director of the UNC Thurston Arthritis Research Center, Chief of the UNC Division of Rheumatology, Allergy & Immunology, and Director of the Johnston County Osteoarthritis Project.
