Drs. Hisada, Key, and Mackman are co-authors of “Biomarkers of bleeding and venous thromboembolism in patients with acute leukemia” and their manuscript was accepted by The Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis. In this manuscript, they showed that increased extracellular vesicle tissue factor activity is associated with bleeding whereas increased plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 levels are associated with venous thrombosis in acute leukemia patients.
