The goal of this grant is to characterize a new mouse model of severe asthma which exhibits extreme sensitivity to allergen-induced allergic inflammation and steroid resistance. Drs. Kelada and Moran will characterize which immune pathways underlie this strain’s susceptibility to allergic inflammation and also identify which genes confer this susceptibility. The results of their work will provide new insights into mechanisms underlying the development of severe asthma.
