FEG-X Gun Schottkey Emitter.

Constant power C-Twin object lens with Cs = 2.7 mm.

Autoloader capable of holding 12 cartridges.

Ceta-D 4096 x 4096 pixel CMSO CCD.

Gatan K3 5,760 x 4,092 pixel direct electron detector.

Automated single-particle, electron tomography, and micro-election diffraction data collection using SerialEM or EPU-D.

On-the-fly processing using cryoSPARC Live.

Capable of obtaining near atomic resolution for single-particle cryoEM. Benchmarked with Apoferritin sample 1.8 Å resolution based on FSC=1.34.

Thermo Fisher Scientific Vitrobot Mark IV

Robotic cryo-plunger capable of semi-automated vitrification.

Capable of manual or automated blotting.

Up to 16 grids can be prepared per freezing session.

Touch screen consul and foot-pedal for hands-free operation.

Enclosed processing chamber that maintains high humidity (100%) and temperature (4–60°C) for samples.

Precise control of vitrification parameters including blot time.

We use a mixture of ethane (40%) propane (60%) as the primary cryogen.  This much easier to use as compared to pure ethane.
