The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research at UNC-Chapel Hill announced the six pre-proposal winning teams for this year’s Creativity Hubs seed funding competition. More than 20 of the researchers involved are from the UNC School of Medicine.

For the first time, researchers at UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, led by Assistant Professor of Genetics Hector Franco, PhD, have determined, cell-by-cell, the genetic and epigenetic state of ovarian and endometrial tumors.

Researchers at UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, led by Distinguished Professor of Genetics Charles Perou, PhD, have taken a major step forward in melding two key methods for studying breast cancer: one by genetic analysis and the second by looking at the architecture of cells, or their pathology.

Ellysa Vogt (GMB Graduate Student) Receives Graduate Diversity Enrichment Program Award from Burroughs Wellcome Fund

Ellysa Vogt is a graduate student in the Genetics and Molecular Biology (GMB) curriculum and a member of the Amy Gladfelter laboratory, where she studies the structural and functional plasticity of the septin cytoskeleton in an extremophile black yeast.
