On March 11th, Miguel Cuevas Melendez (Stein Lab) successfully defended and passed his oral qualifying exam! The title of his research proposal is, “Engineering synaptic plasticity in advanced maturation cortical organoids harboring an intellectual disability-associated mutation”. Congratulations Miguel!!

On March 5th, Siddhi Ozarkar successfully defended her PhD Thesis: “White matter in neurotypical development and Angelman syndrome”. Mentor: Dr. Ben Philpot.  Congratulations Dr. Ozarkar!!

On March 4th, Blake Fordyce (Roth Lab) successfully defended and passed her oral qualifying exam! The title of her research proposal is, “The nanoscale organization of 5-HT2A receptors”. Congratulations Blake!!

On February 26th, Katherine Degner (Won Lab) successfully defended and passed her oral qualifying exam! The title of her research proposal is, “Developing Systemic in Vivo Massively Parallel RReporter Assay to Elucidate the Genetic Etiology of Problematic Alcohol Use”. Congratulations Katherine!!

On February 21st, Nicole Ochandarena successfully defended her PhD Thesis: “Cell type and circuit mechanisms of opioid-sensitive neurons in the cerebral cortex”. Mentor: Dr. Greg Scherrer.  Congratulations Dr. Ochandarena!!

On February 11th, Nicholas Ringelberg successfully defended his PhD Thesis: “Circuit Mechanisms Diving Seizure and Behavior in a Mouse Model of Angelman Syndrome”. Mentor: Dr. Ben Philpot.  Congratulations Dr. Ringelberg!
