Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)
The University offers more comprehensive wellness, counseling and psychological services through “CAPS” (919-966-3658, caps@unc.edu). Urgent need drop in hours are Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM on the 3rd floor of the James Taylor Building (‘campus health’ brick building near football stadium). For after hours support, please call 919-966-2281.

Additional Resources for Student Support
Office of the Dean of Students – provides a number of resources to support students with personal matters (e.g. emergency fund resources, harassment or discrimination, LGBTQ services, substance abuse prevention and recovery, etc.).
Referral Form – if students or faculty have concerns about a student’s well being, the Office of the Dean of Students offers a care referral service.
Heels Care Network Website – Serves as a hub for mental health and well-being resources available to Carolina students, staff and faculty, including links to 24/7 support and suicide prevention resources. It also features a live chat and a link to an anonymous care referral form for anyone to report concerns they have for a student.
