“FROM LAB TO LIFE”

with Lisa Crose, PhD

Scientific and Regulatory Specialist

Lunch will be served

Lisa is a Scientific and Regulatory Specialist at Camargo Pharmaceutical Services, a full-service drug development consulting company that specializes in the 505(b)(2) pathway. As a Scientific and Regulatory Specialist, Lisa’s responsibilities include development of feasibility and regulatory strategy, evaluation of safety and efficacy data, preparation of regulatory documents, and attendance at meetings on behalf of clients at the US Food and Drug Administration.

Prior to joining Camargo, Lisa was a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Pediatrics at Duke University Medical Center for over 6 years. During this time, she performed research on the molecular mechanisms of rhabdomyosarcoma, an aggressive pediatric cancer. Her focus was identifying tractable drug targets for rhabdomyosarcoma and testing novel therapeutic approaches in preclinical mouse models. Lisa’s work was funded by a competitive fellowship training appointment from the National Institutes of Health, and postdoctoral fellowships from the Hartwell Foundation, the Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative, and Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. During her time at Duke, Lisa served in the interdisciplinary Duke Sarcoma Working Group and as a peer reviewer for Cancer Letters and Clinical and Translational Medicine.

Before her postdoctoral training, Lisa earned her Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her dissertation work characterized biochemical and cell biological processes in the disease cerebral cavernous malformations. Lisa developed novel approaches to define intracellular protein interactions and also used zebrafish as a model system to study aberrant vascular biology processes in vivo. Lisa was funded through competitive predoctoral training fellowships from the National Institutes of Health and the American Heart Association.

Lisa earned a B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences and a B.A. in Biology from Drake University. In 2016, she received the Alumni Achievement Award from the Drake University College of Pharmacy. She has authored 13 peer reviewed publications including 6 first-authored publications, three literature reviews, and an invited book chapter. Lisa has presented her work at national and international conferences.
