2021: Clinical Data Workshop
Recent advances in technology have simplified the creation, collection, storage, and analysis of health care data. However, researchers and clinicians are still working to realize the potential of this data.
The PPMH Precision Analytics group is collaborating with the NC Translational and Clinical Sciences Institute (NC TraCS) to offer a virtual workshop that will provide an introduction to working with patient or clinical data. During the workshop, participants will work with a deidentified Electronic Health Record (EHR) data set based on actual patient records. This workshop is designed for UNC researchers and clinicians with prior database experience.
Topics Included
- Introduction to the PCORnet data model and Carolina Data Warehouse
- SQL techniques for working with databases
- Working with EHR data in Python
- Building EHR queries – methods and best practices
- Building phenotypes
- Research at UNC with patient and clinical data
