North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center

RememberingWhen_bannerDeveloped by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Remembering When™ is a fire and fall prevention program designed for older adults to facilitate independent living. Safety messages are presented with a nostalgic theme through fun and interactive discussion, trivia, quizzes and colorful brochures.

CDC statistics show that older adults have a significantly higher risk of death or injury from fires or falls than the general population. The North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center Outreach staff work with Fire, Life and Safety Educators across the state to disseminate Remembering When™ training to the senior citizens of North Carolina. The objective is to prevent injuries among these older adults and help them live safely at home for as long as possible.
