Making an Appointment

  • All new patient appointments are preferentially made by the referring doctor’s office(s) by way of a referral.
  • Referrals can be made via EPIC, Care Link (Care Link PDF instructions), or by faxing a referral for all GI Surgeons to 919-590-6372.
  • Returning patients should call the UNCH Multi-Specialty Surgery Clinic at 984-974-0150.
  • To cancel or reschedule “New Patient” appointments, or for specific questions, please call the UNCH Multi-Specialty Surgery Clinic as soon as possible at 984-974-0150.

For Hiatal Hernia appointments

  • Referrals for Hiatal or Paraesophageal Hernias should be made to GI Surgery by faxing to 919-590-6372.
  • Returning patients should call the UNCH Multi-Specialty Surgery Clinic at 984-974-0150.

Weight Loss Surgery appointments

  • Follow weight loss surgery steps if interested in an appointment.
  • You may be asked to have a referral sent before scheduling based on your insurance requirements.
  • To cancel or reschedule Weight Loss Surgery appointments, please call 984-974-6519 as soon as possible.

Prior to clinic appointment/visit, GI Surgery’s office must receive the following:

  • Patient’s tests, scans, results, etc.
  • Office visits notes.
  • Only relevant to current surgical diagnoses.

Please bring the following items on your appointment:

  • Your insurance card.
  • Any pertinent medical record and/or X-rays.
  • A list of medications you are currently taking.
  • Your UNC Hospitals card (if you have one).
