UNC Optical is a full service optical shop staffed by NC licensed opticians.  All state employees and immediate family receive a 20% discount on all prescription eyewear (frame and lenses) as well as non-prescription sunglasses.  The discount does not apply to eye exams or contact lenses and may not be combined with some insurance programs.  UNC HEALTHCARE and UNIVERSITY employees may purchase eyeglasses through payroll deduction.

UNC Optical is conveniently located adjacent to the Kittner Eye Center, which is located in the Ambulatory Care Center on the corner of Mason Farm Road and Columbua Street.  The optical shop offers a variety of quality frames with an emphasis on current and fashionable frame styles.  Experienced opticians provide information to select the best frames and lens options for each individual.  All eyeglasses are backed by excellent warranties and superior service.
