Brandi Reeves, MD, received a 5-year NHLBI K08 Mentored Clinical Scientist Development Award for a research project evaluating the role of hypoxia inducible factor in myeloproliferative-associated thrombosis.  These awards are judged not only on the merit of the candidate, training plan, and the research proposal, but also on institutional environment and mentoring team.  Her mentoring team for the award consists of Rafal Pawlinski, PhD (primary mentor), Jon Serody, MD (co-mentor), and Alison Moliterno, MD of Johns Hopkins University (co-mentor).  Nigel Key, MB, ChB, FRCP and Josef Prchal, MD of the University of Utah will additionally serve as committee members.
