Why Otolaryngology?

Otolaryngology is a unique specialty that allows us to treat a wide breadth of pathologies both medically and surgically in a complex anatomical region. I also love being able to help patients of all ages better interface with the world around them and significantly improve their quality of life.

Why UNC?

UNC provides early-on operative experience, extensive research opportunities, and exposure to unique and diverse pathologies which allows for one of the best training experiences in the country. More importantly, the strong sense of community I have felt amongst the residents and attendings in our department has made surgical residency one of the most fun and enriching times in my life. I know that after leaving UNC I will be a well-trained otolaryngologist who will be prepared to enter down any one of the many paths our specialty offers.

Fun Fact: In undergrad I had the opportunity to play 4 years of varsity tennis for Texas Tech University.
