There is a resident-directed, structured didactic schedule, which begins in the PGY1 year. All PGY2 residents meet weekly with Dr. Mark C. Weissler to review and discuss selected chapters from the Bailey text “Head & Neck Surgery – Otolaryngology.” There are several scheduled didactic sessions each week with lectures on topics directly relevant to developing core knowledge in Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery. Examples of didactic sessions held each week include Attending Rounds, Grand Rounds, Tumor Board, and three evening conferences. In addition, there is an annual head and neck anatomy course with cadaver lab in the fall as well as a temporal bone anatomy course in the spring.
