Redesign care to address opioid safety stewardship and improve overall care for patients presenting to the ED with a hip fracture.
Smart Aim
By August 31, 2022, increase the percent of hip fracture patients presenting to UNC ED that receive a nerve block for pain control from 50% to 80%, shorten the time to receive nerve blocks to less than 24 hours, and revise hip fracture admission order set to include scheduled non-opioid analgesics.
