Functional GI and Motility Disorders
Established in 1994 by Dr. Douglas Drossman and Dr. William Whitehead, the UNC Center for Functional GI and Motility Disorders is internationally recognized for research and treatment of functional GI and motility disorders (FGID).
Services
We use a patient-centered approach to treat patients with functional GI and motility disorders, such as chronic constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, fecal incontinence, functional dyspepsia, functional nausea, and gastroparesis. This includes outpatient consultations and ongoing care. In addition, we provide motility testing and pelvic floor biofeedback therapy. For questions or additional information visit the Gastroenterology Clinic and for the GI Motility Unit websites.
