How to become an after-hours user | Microscopy Services Laboratory (MSL)

After-hours access to the Microscopy Services Laboratory is only possible for those of our users that have a UNC ID card.

To use our instruments after-hours you will need authorization from the MSL staff, which will only be granted after extensive experience and demonstrated proficiency on the instruments in question. In addition, you will need to fill out a form so that your key card can be programmed to open both the building and the laboratory locks. Please:

Download the form
Complete all mandatory items in the top section
Do not sign at the bottom of the form
Once complete, please email the completed form to the MSL staff email
Do not bring us a printed form; this slows down the process

It may take a few days for access to be granted, depending on processing times at the School of Medicine Photo ID Badge Office.
