How to become an after-hours user

After-hours access to the Microscopy Services Laboratory is only possible for those of our users that have a UNC ID card.

To use our instruments after-hours you will need authorization from the MSL staff, which will only be granted after extensive experience and demonstrated proficiency on the instruments in question. In addition, you will need to fill out a form so that your key card can be programmed to open both the building and the laboratory locks. Please download the form and complete all items that have a check mark. Once complete, please email the completed form to the MSL staff email. Do not bring us a printed form; this slows down the process. It may take a few days for access to be granted, depending on processing times at the School of Medicine Photo ID Badge Office.
