Biography
I graduated in 2009 with my BS in Biology from North Carolina State University. After graduation, I worked with Dr. Timothy Gershon at UNC prior to applying for graduate school.
Research
We study how neural circuits are modified in adulthood through the addition of adult-born neurons to the dentate gyrus of the hippocampus, and thereby we seek to understand aspects of hippocampus-dependent learning and memory. Our approach to elucidate neurogenesis-circuitry interactions utilizes key techniques of neural circuit activity imaging, cell-type specific circuit modulation, in vivo clonal analysis, and other behavioral and physiological measures in mice.
