Dr. Jason Goldsmith, Ph.D.

Jason Goldsmith, a member of the Jobin lab, successfully defended his dissertation April 16, 2012 and recieved his PH.D. The title of his dissertation was ” Mechanisms of mu opioid receptor mediated protection from multiple models of acute injury.”

Jason’s parents, Kurt and Bonnie Goldsmith, came from Portland, OR to attend. His in-laws, Ann and Paul Beaulieu, attended also, coming from Philadelphia, PA. His wife, Rachel Goldsmith, who also attended, graduated with a Ph.D. from Pathology and Lab Medicine at UNC last March and is a post-doc at the NIEHS.

After receiving his PH.D., Jason, who is an MD/PhD student, will continue his medical studies at the UNC School of Medicine starting in the summer. Our congratulations to you, Jason!
