Lauren Parker Huff with Dr. Adrienne Cox, her mentor

Lauren Parker Huff, a member of Adrienne Cox’s lab, successfully defended her thesis November 4, 2013. The title of her dissertation is “Impact of subcellular localization on oncogenic functions of the RhoGEF Ect2 and on its Rho GTPase targets.”

Lauren had a large contingent from her and her husband’s family attending. Her little sister (Kelsey Parker) and her parents (Ron and Corette Parker) came from Durham. Her in laws (Gayna and Steve Huff) came from Matthews, NC and her Grandparents-in-law (Edward and Gwen Perry) came from Fort Mill, SC.

Lauren’s (non-grad school) friends who came for the event are:

-Natalie, Matt & Marian Eagleburger from Durham, NC
-Erica & Eleanor Blank from Charlotte, NC
-Rick, Jan & Sarah Helfer from Raleigh, NC
-Ryan Campbell & Katelyn Ander from Chapel Hill, NC.

Lauren’s future plans include a post doc at Emory. We wish Lauren all the best for her research future and lots of happiness as she can now join her husband in Atlanta (he relocated there for a position a little over a year ago).

Congratulations, Lauren!
