This is done as part of a core biochemistry course, which includes efforts to expand data science education at UNC and allow students from all majors to translate big data into knowledge by effectively lowering the barrier of entry for those who have never coded in Python before. Her vision for the “Sci-Omics Lab” is to bridge the gap between experimental scientists who produce the data and the computational scientists who analyze the data, encouraging both sides to work together more effectively.
