Matt Goulet, a Specialist in Clinical Pharmacology and Project Management at Nuventra Pharma Sciences, gave a From Lab to Life Seminar on November 16, 2016. He talked about where he works now and how he got to that position from graduate school. He also talked about how to successfully network and stand out positively when seeking a job.
Matt Goulet graduated from Providence College with a B.S. in Biology in 2012, then joined the Pharmacology Department at Duke University and enrolled the Molecular Cancer Biology program. In December 2015, he was awarded an M.S. in Molecular Cancer Biology, and chose to transition from academia to industry instead of continuing with doctoral studies. This transition was nonlinear and filled with learning experiences. He learned that a successful job search depends on highlighting relevant skills, finding the right fit, and marketing yourself and your resume to employers. With some hustle and luck, Matt found and accepted a position as a Specialist in Clinical Pharmacology and Project Management at Nuventra Pharma Sciences in January 2016.
At Nuventra, Matt creates efficiencies by ensuring completion of high quality projects on time and under budget. To ensure that projects move forward as expected, Matt is often asked to provide analytical support for senior consultants, with tasks ranging from analysis to report writing in disciplines ranging from pharmacokinetics to regulatory submissions.
