Reid Olsen

Reid Olsen, a graduate student in the Roth Lab, was the recipient of a Trainee Professional Development Award given by the Society for Neuroscience. The award is a merit-based monetary award as well as registration/membership fees for the 2015 annual conference, which was held in Chicago.

“Trainee Professional Development Awards are presented to deserving young scientists who demonstrate scientific merit and excellence in their research. These awards provide those in the early stages of their career the chance to present a scientific abstract and to meet and network with senior scientists at the SfN annual meeting.” (~from the Society for Neuroscience website)

Reid presented work with his undergraduate interns, Szu-Aun Lim and Isaac Hannif, on the role of the cholecystokinin neuropeptide in promoting the proliferation of adult neural stem cells.

Our congratulations to Reid!
