Congratulations to Shelley Earp, MD, upon receiving this award given to honor faculty who have made “the greatest contribution to the welfare of the human race.”
For his efforts in cancer diagnosis, cancer treatment and continued cancer research, benefitting the residents of North Carolina and beyond, joint faculty member, Shelley Earp, M.D., was awarded the prestigious 2023 Oliver Max Gardner Award, which recognizes any UNC systems faculty member who has “made the greatest contribution to the welfare of the human race.” First presented in 1949, it is the highest honor conferred on faculty by the University of North Carolina Board of Governors.
“Since 1997, Earp has worked to make UNC Lineberger into the premier institution it is today. The N.C.
