MBA Degree
UNC medical students can earn Doctor of Medicine and Master of Business Administration degrees in five years.
Students must apply to and be accepted by both the MD program and the MBA program. Students are encouraged to apply to the MBA program in their second year or third year of medical school. Successful candidates will complete the first three years of the MD program and then spend their fourth year in the core and elective MBA courses. In the fifth year, students will take courses in both the MD and MBA programs.

Medical students must submit a self-reported GMAT or GRE score or submit the GMAT/GRE Waiver Request, located within the application. They can use MCAT scores as a demonstration of their quantitative/analytical abilities in the request form, which allows for supplemental material uploads. For the waiver request, the program also requires a statement about their quantitative background, a resume, and transcripts.
