Fellowships expand the field of emergency medicine and enhance our ability to provide great care for all patients. The University of North Carolina Department of Emergency Medicine hosts fellowships in seven innovative sub specialties of emergency medicine because we support the mission of evolving the care emergency departments offer around the country and globe. Our faculty have played a leading role in defining criteria for non-ACGME accredited fellowships in Emergency Medicine, as well as work closely with the national organizations overseeing ACGME accredited fellowships. We are well integrated into the national community of academic medical centers and thereby able to help our graduates get fantastic jobs around the country. Our commitment to all of our graduating fellows is that they will be prepared to launch a career in the sub-specialty area of their choosing that will help evolve the practice of emergency medicine.
