It was a very productive year for the UNC Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery (ENT). Our most notable story featured Grayson Clamp, the 3-year-old boy from Charlotte, North Carolina, who heard his father’s voice for the first time. The video produced by UNC Health Care has garnered more than 1.3 million views, and Grayson has been featured on many major news programs such as CNN, Today Show, Anderson Cooper 360, and CBS Evening News.
We published four quarterly newsletters, saw a 23% increase in applications to our residency program, took home numerous awards and accolades, ranked #22 in the U.S. News & World Report of all ENT programs nationally, and we became #10 in NIH grant funding of all U.S. otolaryngology departments.
