Financial Assistance
The Department of Health Sciences is dedicated to empowering students from all backgrounds, particularly those facing financial challenges, to achieve their educational and professional aspirations. Recognizing the importance of accessible education, the department actively strives to provide resources, guidance, and support to help students navigate financial barriers.
We encourage all students to take the first step in securing financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This essential tool opens the door to financial aid opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students. The application is simple and available online.

Department of Health Sciences Awards
Application opens: April 15, 2026 | Application Deadline: June 1, 2026
The Thorpe/Mitchell Leadership Award was created to help strengthen the department and health professions by increasing the number of under-represented students and fostering their success. Eligible applicants are newly admitted students who are under-represented. Under-represented is defined as, but is not limited to, socio-economic status, first generation status, military status, and geography. A strong candidate will demonstrate strong academic promise, potential for leadership, and an interest in giving back. For 2026 only students in Clinical Laboratory Science, Neurodiagnostics and Sleep Science, and Radiologic Science programs can apply. Only newly admitted students can apply for the Thorpe-Mitchell award. No FAFSA required.
These scholarships are awarded by the different divisions. For 2026 students in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling, Neurodiagnostics and Sleep Science, and Physical Therapy, can submit an application through the application portal. Other divisions will have each have a separate process for awarding their divisions based funds. To find out more information on the division/program scholarship, please contact your division directly. A FASFA must be completed using school code 002974.
