Any Employee has authority to take action to redress sexual violence, given the duty of reporting incidents of sexual violence or any other misconduct by students to the Title IX coordinator or other appropriate school designee, whom a student could reasonably believe has this authority or duty.

Four Categories of Responsible Employees:

  • Every employee who has been designated as a Campus Security Authority.
  • Employees with administrative or supervisory responsibilities for other employees and students.
  • Any employee who accompanies students abroad or is a local contact for students abroad.
  • Employees who serve as advisors to registered student organizations.

Mental Health First Aiders can help recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health challenges and substance use in others, assist someone experiencing a mental health crisis, and connect individuals to professional resources for additional care.
Located near the main entrances of each building. The Bondurant AED is located on the main hall north of the main lobby area and on the side of the hall towards the Beach Cafe. The MacNider AED is at the main entry opposite of the Health Sciences Library.
Per the UNC SOM Planning Office, Buildings that are connected have a fire separation (fire doors, fire walls, etc.) and coordinated fire alarm and protection systems that can include fire doors that release to close. Occupants should evacuate when the space they are in has an active fire alarm as indicated by strobes and horns.

If a building, you occupy is not in alarm and you are not otherwise sensing a danger then it is not a requirement to evacuate. However, occupants can always evacuate out of caution.
