Didactics and Conferences
A multitude of non-clinical professional development curriculum options are offered to fellows:
– Department of Pediatrics core fellowship curriculum (fellows’ college) covering topics such as professionalism, cultural humility, innovative approaches to teaching, teamwork and training, and academic promotion.
– Weekly division meetings are organized and led by second year fellows with faculty guidance and which cover a range of topics from clinical learning, medical education topics, academic and professional development, fellow-led journal clubs, and MMI conferences.
– Weekly Pediatric Grand Rounds
– Fellows are encouraged to periodically lead sessions at resident academic half-day with faculty mentorship and guidance to further develop their teaching skills
– Fellows CME and schedule protection to attend 1-2 national conferences yearly
– Fellows regularly join patient safety and administrative committees during fellowship
