As with any practice, the availability and quality of Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) or Individual Placement and Support (IPS) will be predicated on larger system level factors. Such factors include existing policy, funding amounts and structure, and the availability of alternative services. At times, legal proceedings have resulted in local areas implementing evidence-based practices.
