The UNC CHAAMP Teen Advisory Board is made up of a group of approximately 10 teenagers from the greater RDU area who are helping to improve research at CHAAMP! Specifically, the purpose of this board is to help CHAAMP scientists design impactful research studies that are highly relevant for teenagers so that we can better understand teens’ lives and experiences and how they relate to youth mental health. As a member of the advisory board, your teen will meet several times a year with CHAAMP faculty and staff to provide their critical insights on a variety of topics including the types of stressors today’s teens experience, current trends in social media use, and how teenagers talk about mental health. The Board will also provide feedback to UNC scientists on their current and future research studies to ensure that our studies are designed to answer the questions that matter the most when it comes to teens’ mental health.

If you have any questions about the CHAAMP Teen Advisory Board or are interested in participating in the future, please contact us at CHAAMPTeenBoard@med.unc.edu.
