Education and Training Programs

The Department of Neurology at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and UNC Hospitals offers training in neurology for residents and fellows. 

The Department offers residency training programs in adult and child neurology. Both programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) for Board Eligibility in Neurology or in Neurology with special competence in Child Neurology. 

ACGME-accredited fellowships are available in Vascular Neurology and Sleep Medicine.  Additional fellowships include: EEG & Clinical Neurophysiology, Electrodiagnostic Medicine & Neuromuscular Disease, Neuroimmunology/ Multiple Sclerosis, Movement Disorders and Deep Brain Stimulation, Neuropsychological Aspects of Movement Disorders, and Neuropsychological Aspects of HIV.
