Dr. Daniel Roque, MD

We are proud to announce that Dr. Daniel Roque has been promoted from Associate Professor to Professor in the Department of Neurology, effective February 1, 2026.

Dr. Roque joined UNC Neurology in 2012 and has served as a Clinical Associate Professor since 2019. A nationally recognized movement disorders specialist, he directs both the UNC Tremor Interdisciplinary Clinic and the Movement Disorders Neuromodulation Program, leading teams that deliver advanced therapies such as deep brain stimulation and focused ultrasound.

He is a highly decorated educator with multiple Faculty Teacher of the Year awards and an active contributor to medical student and resident teaching. His research includes leadership on NIH‑funded neuromodulation studies and widely cited publications in movement disorders.

Dr. Roque has also provided extensive service to the department as Vice Chair for Ambulatory Affairs and through leadership roles supporting clinical operations and interdisciplinary care.
