Grand Rounds – Using Quantitative EEG to Improve Neurologic Critical Care

Objectives:

  1. Appreciate the basics of critical care quantitative EEG (qEEG) trends.
  2. Understand various ways qEEG can be utilized in the Neuro ICU for seizure detection, ischemia detection, burst suppression monitoring and prognosis after cardiac arrest.
  3. Discuss potential future applications of ICU qEEG, such as spreading depression detection.
