Lecture: Maintain Your Brain

The Longest Day

The UNC Wellness Center is proud to present its second annual The Longest Day event to mark the summer solstice and recognize the long journey of the families, friends and those with Alzheimer’s disease. Free to members and non-members.

  • 12:30 – 1: 30 – Maintain Your Brain lecture on brain health presented by Dr. Daniel Kaufer, Director of the UNC Memories Disorders
  • 2:00pm – Shag Dancing – Beach music and dancing in Studio B. Dancing is the ultimate activity for brain health. It combines social support, cardiovascular benefits, movement and mental focus. Free and open to all. No experience necessary.
  • 3:30 – 5pm – Dementia-Friendly Business Training – Small group discussion in the classroom about interactions with the cognitively impaired. This training is intended for Wellness Center staff, Meadowmont businesses and other interested parties.

All events are free and open to the public (members as well as non-members).
