Application Overview
UNC’s Division of Musculoskeletal Imaging will be participating in the NRMP’s 2023-2024 Fellowship Match, with three one-year 2025-2026 fellowship positions available. To be eligible for consideration, a fellowship candidate must have completed an accredited residency in Diagnostic Radiology, must be board-certified or have passed the ABR Core Examination at the time of the fellowship year (a requirement for credentialing), and be eligible for a full NC Medical license.
In keeping with the updated Society of Chairs of Academic Departments (SCARD) timeline, the application period for fellowship applications begins November 1st, 2022. We will begin reviewing applications in November. The deadline to apply for our 2025-2026 Musculoskeletal Imaging Fellowship positions is December 31st, 2023. Interview invitations will be sent in the first week of December.
Interviews will likely be conducted between January 15th and March 31st with specific interview dates to be provided upon interview offer. All interviews will be virtual per SCARD recommendations.

USMLE board scores
Three (3) letters of recommendation – Mail LORs directly to UNC MSK Imaging Fellowship Director. (one LOR from Residency Program Director is required)
Personal statement
Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certificate, if your medical degree is from a non-US, non-Canadian school
