Clinical Research
Our Clinical research support team has one mission: To aid radiology faculty in the responsible conduct of clinical and translational research in a manner that is ethical and consistent with relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. The Radiology Core Services group provides imaging reads by radiologists that are considered outside of standard clinical reads or imaging requirements not considered standard of care for this institution. In addition, the group provides image deidentification services, which includes burning studies to a disc or uploading to outside vendors or Sponsors. Our faculty and residents are actively involved in multiple clinical trials across the UNC Health system, many of which are in partnership with other investigators and institutions across the country. Clinical trials are research studies performed on people. Specifically within Radiology they are aimed at evaluating methods for diagnostic imaging and disease detection.
